An acrostic poem uses the first letters of a word or phrase to begin each new line of the poem. The content of the poem usually is descriptive of the chosen phrase or word. Consider a few holiday words or phrases. Choose one and write it at the top of your brainstorm scroll. Then, begin to write phrases or words that relate to your chosen word or phrase. After the 10 minute brainstorm session, we will organize those ideas to work into our acrostic. You will need your brain, pencil, scroll, music, and thesaurus.
Here are some great examples of holiday acrostics others have written.
